Who writes this, who checks it, and what we are qualified to say.

Anonymous health publishing is easy and it is worth very little. Here is who stands behind the words, including an honest account of where our expertise ends.

Laiqa Sami

Nutrition & Fitness Reviewer

Laiqa holds a BSc (Hons) in Food Science and Human Nutrition and is a certified Dance Fit, Zumba, Yoga and Pilates coach. She previously worked as a senior instructor at Aim Fit, where she coached clients across a wide range of ages and starting points.

That combination is unusually well suited to what this site covers. The nutrition degree gives her the grounding to judge whether we are representing the science accurately. The coaching years give her something a qualification alone does not: a clear sense of which advice people will actually follow, and which collapses on contact with a real week.

She reviews our nutrition, supplement, fitness and training content, checking both that the underlying science is stated correctly and that the practical guidance is realistic and safe for a general adult readership.

Scope of review. Laiqa reviews nutrition, supplement, fitness and exercise content. She is not a physician and does not review or approve material on diagnosis, medication, or the management of medical conditions. Her review is not medical advice and does not replace consultation with your own doctor.

Research & Writing

The editorial team researches and writes the articles. Work begins in the primary literature (PubMed and PubMed Central) before any secondary source is consulted, and is cross-checked against guidance from national health bodies.

The team’s role is not to be the expert in the room. It is to read the research carefully, represent it accurately including its uncertainty, and translate it into something a man can act on without a clinical background. Every claim is cited so you never have to take our reading on faith.

How a review actually works

  1. The article is drafted and fully sourced

Nothing goes to review until every claim carries a citation. Reviewing an unsourced draft would mean checking opinions rather than evidence.

  2. Scope is decided before review, not after

We identify which parts fall inside a reviewer’s qualifications. A supplement article may have its nutrition sections reviewed while its “when to see a doctor” section is handled as clinical guidance and flagged accordingly.

  3. The reviewer checks accuracy and practicality

Two questions: is the science stated correctly, and would this guidance actually work for the reader it is aimed at? Disagreement sends the section back to be rewritten, not softened.

  4. Reviewed articles carry a byline

Where an article has been through this process it says so, naming the reviewer. Where it has not, it does not claim to have been. We are not applying review bylines retrospectively to articles nobody has reviewed.

What we are not. Health Density has no physician on staff and no medical review board, and we will not invent one. On a subject where being wrong has consequences, we would rather tell you exactly what our qualifications cover than borrow authority we have not earned.

For anything involving diagnosis, medication, or a decision about treatment, the right expert is a doctor who knows your history. Our articles are written to help you walk into that conversation better prepared.
