Important

This is a publication, not a medical service.

Health Density is written to help you understand your own health well enough to make better decisions and ask better questions. It cannot examine you, it does not know your history, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.

If this is an emergency, stop reading. Chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, confusion, severe or sudden pain, or thoughts of harming yourself all need immediate help. Contact your local emergency services or go to an emergency department now. Do not wait to finish researching.

What this site is

Educational, general information

Everything here is written for a general adult male readership. It is not tailored to you, your medications, your conditions or your family history.

Research-grounded, not personalised

Our claims come from published research and clinical guidance. Research describes what happens on average across populations. You are not an average.

Preparation for a real consultation

The best use of this site is walking into an appointment knowing what to ask, which test to request, and what the numbers mean when they come back.

What it is not

It is not a diagnosis

Reading about symptoms is not the same as being assessed. Many conditions share symptoms, and several of the topics we cover (fatigue, low libido, poor sleep, urinary changes) have long lists of possible causes that only examination and testing can separate.

If something has changed in your body and persisted, that warrants a doctor, not an article.

It is not a reason to start, stop or change medication

Never adjust a prescription based on anything you read here. That includes stopping something because an article suggests a side effect, and starting a supplement that may interact with what you already take.

Bring the article to your prescriber instead. That is a legitimate and useful thing to do.

It is not clinically reviewed

Health Density has no physician on staff and no medical review board. Our nutrition, fitness and supplement content is reviewed by Laiqa Sami, BSc (Hons) Food Science and Human Nutrition, a certified fitness coach. Her qualifications cover nutrition and exercise, not diagnosis or treatment.

We state this plainly rather than implying a level of clinical oversight we do not have.

It does not create a professional relationship

Reading this site, or contacting us, does not create a doctor-patient or other professional relationship. We cannot give individual medical advice by email, and we will not attempt to.

It may not be current at the moment you read it

Guidance changes. Each article carries a last-updated date, and our corrections policy explains how we keep pages current, but no publication is current on every page every day.

Please speak to a professional if

This list is not exhaustive. It covers the situations that come up most often across the topics we write about.

A symptom is new, persistent or getting worse

Especially anything involving your chest, breathing, bowel or bladder habits, unexplained weight change, a lump, or blood where there should not be any.

You are considering hormone therapy or prescription treatment

Testosterone therapy in particular carries real trade-offs, including effects on fertility, and needs proper testing and monitoring.

You take medication or have a diagnosed condition

Supplements interact with prescriptions more often than people expect. Check before adding anything, not after.

You are struggling with your mental health

Low mood, anxiety and burnout are treatable, and professional support works. Please do not rely on an article for this one.

Liability

Health Density publishes this content in good faith and takes accuracy seriously, but makes no warranty that any article is complete, current, or applicable to your circumstances. You act on general health information at your own discretion, and any decision about your health remains between you and a qualified professional who has assessed you.
